A Taste of Christmas with Lauren's Sisters

Jenn, Jess & Lauren celebrating Christmas Eve 2019.

Christmas has always been a time to bring together family in the best way we know how - around the table with love, gratitude and a lot of delicious food!

I asked my sisters, Jess and Jenn, to share their favorite recipes to cook for friends and family over the holidays. So whether you are hosting holiday brunch, baking some cookies to swap or enjoy, we hope you have a festive, flavorful & fun time holiday cooking! - Lauren

“I love hosting Christmas morning breakfast! I started making this dish in 2014 and it’s been a family hit ever since, so it’'ll continue to be a traditional dish on our table. Besides tasting amazing, it’s an easy dish to put together and still be able to spend more time with family on Christmas morning. Enjoy!” - Jenn

Meema’s Snowball Cookies

“Growing up our grandmother, Meema, made all the Christmas cookies for our family gatherings. We all looked forward to these cookies. She would always make extra and would not hesitate to share them and her recipes with us. But not her Snowballs. She guarded that recipe. It was her prized possession. I’ll never forget helping her sneak recipes for other family members’ baked goods (like our Mom’s secret Pam’s Pop caramel popcorn), but when asked to share her Snowballs we were always met with disappointment when she would say, “No”. Until one year for my birthday, I opened the usual card that held the usual cash, but there was a folded up piece of paper in the card that year. I opened it to discover the Snowball cookie recipe. When Lauren asked me to share something I hesitated to share this recipe. I thought that Meema might not be happy about it. Lauren reminded me that she shared it with me and she’d probably now be overjoyed having her recipe shared with all of you, especially at this time of the year. Meema often enjoyed watching “Quite Frankly” and loved chatting with Frank.

Note! The recipe calls for chopped pecans. Please do yourself the favor of getting pecan meal for these. Some would say this is Meema’s secret ingredient for these cookies. Its fine texture really makes a difference in the consistency of these delicate cookies. Enjoy!” - Jess
