Quite Festive: Official Quite Frankly Christmas 2020 Cocktail
We are proud to present the Official Quite Frankly Christmas 2020 Cocktail:
Cranberry Cocktail Ingredients: 4 fresh cranberries 1.5 inch orange peel 4 oz. cranberry juice 1-1.5 oz. bourbon 2 ox. soda water 3 droppers orange bitters
Directions: Muddle the cranberries, orange peel with sugar. Add cranberry juice, bourbon, soda water, bitters and ice. Stir, strain or leave the bits on the rocks.
There were many great contenders this year that made it difficult to crown a winner. Here are the Honorable Mentions:
Raspberry Russian Ingredients: 3 fresh raspberries ice cubes 1 oz. heavy cream 1 oz. chambord 1 oz. vodka
Directions: Muddle raspberries in the bottom of a glass. Add ice. Pour cream, Chambord, and vodka over ice. Stir well to combine.
Creamsicle Fizz Ingredients: sugar 1/2 c. ice 1 oz. Vanilla Vodka 1 oz. orange or blood orange juice Champagne Cava Prosecco 1 orange slice
Directions: Rim a champagne flute with sugar. Fill cocktail shaker with ice, vanilla vodka, and orange or blood orange juice. Shake, then strain mixture into flute. Top with champagne, cava, and prosecco and garnish with orange slice.
Mistletoe Ingredients: 1/4 tsp of lime juice 1/2 tsp honey 3 mint leaves 1 ounce vodka Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic) 5 cranberries (3 for garnish) 1 sprig of rosemary for garnish white sugar for garnish 8 oz glass
Directions: Place mint leaves, 2 cranberries, honey and lime in a dish and use a muddler to mash and set aside. Squeeze lime juice into a small dish and sugar into another, big enough for the rim of the glass. Dip the rim of the glass in the lime, then in the sugar to rim the glass. Place the mash mixture in bottom of the glass, add 3/4 of the glass of crushed ice and vodka over the ice. Add ginger beer to just below the rimmer of the 8oz glass.
Gingerbread Eggnog White Russian Ingredients: 1/2 tsp. cinnamon for rimming glasses 2 tsp. sugar for rimming glasses 4 oz. eggnog 4 oz. vodka 4 oz. Kahlua 3 teaspoons molasses 1/8 tsp. ginger Whipped cream for topping Molasses drizzle for topping
Directions: Mix cinnamon and sugar, then pour onto a plate. Wet rims of each glass and dip them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour eggnog, vodka, Kahlua, molasses, and ginger. Shake to combine. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream, then add a light drizzle of molasses.
Santa Hat Martini Ingredients: 1/2 oz. Pama Liqueur 1 oz. Vodka 1/2 oz. Cointreau 1 1/2 oz. Cranberry Juice
Directions: Combine all ingredients into a martini shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a martini glass.
Directions: Mix liquor first, then separate yolks and whites of 12 eggs. Add sugar to beaten yolks, mix well. Add milk and cream, slowly beating. Beat whites of eggs until stiff, and fold slowly into mixture. Let set in cool place for several days. Taste frequently.
